Thrift store, lunch and jammin'

Well it has been a few days since I have posted anything as I have been having computer issues. My computer is fairly old but I am hoping I can keep limping by until I can find a job.
I had a pretty good day yesterday. I scored pretty big at Goodwill. I actually found a tatting shuttle and a bunch of tiny crochet hooks and a bunch of thread.  It kinda looked like someone completely cleaned out their tatting closet and I ended up being the winner in the deal! As an added bonus it was all on sale! I didn't know it was on sale until I got to the check out and the cashier let me know.
In the afternoon, Mark, my stepson came over for lunch. After lunch was done we all spent time in the music room jammin. I was on drums, Mark was on guitar and harmonies and the hubby played piano and sang. It is always so great when we get to see Mark and its a huge bonus when he stays long enough to jam with us. It is sounding like Mark wants to play more often so him and Dave are talking about dusting off some of their old songs and taking them out on the road again. Sure hope that happens soon!

Lost in surfing

So I guess I learned yesterday that it is really easy to get lost in internet land just looking for fun tatting patterns and reading lots of cool peoples blogs. I kind of got lost in it and before long I look up and the day is almost over. I did find lots of patterns I want to try so I guess it wasnt a completely wasted day.  So far I have just been needle tatting but so many of the awesome patterns I have been running across are shuttle patterns including lots of 2 shuttle patterns. I am not sure how to find out if a pattern will work with needle tatting and it kind of feels like it could take years to figure this out. I actually tried to tat a shamrock late last night that was a shuttle pattern but it didn't work out so well. So I think I have made up my mind that I need to try shuttle tatting. I haven't been able to find any shuttles to buy here in my area ( in fact I ended up ordering my needles on line) but there are so many different shuttles available that I would really like to look at them in person.  I am pretty motivated about learning all I can about tatting so I will probably end up just ordering some shuttles online.
I have spent most of the morning fighting computer issues. I am afraid that I may have picked up a virus or some such nasty thing by doing all the surfing I have been doing lately or worse I may have picked up something by starting this blog. I sure hope not so please wish me luck!!

Lets get Rockin' and Rollin'

Well lets get Rockin' and Rollin'! I am brand new to this blogging business so cross your fingers (and toes if you got em)  and lets hope this works. My mom has always wished that I had learned to Tat before my grandma passed away. I guess I got my love of all things crafty from my grandma. Some of my fondest  memories from my youth are spending time with my grandma and grandpa learning all sorts of arts and crafts while camping and fishing. So in honor of my mom and grandma I decided my next craft endeavor would be to learn how to tat. Guess what???...I am completely bitten, smitten and hooked by the tatting bug!

Thanks to all you  bloggers out there that have taken the time to host such awesome blogs that have given me the inspiration to be able to tat to my hearts content and to start my own blog to document my tatting journey!!

LETS DO THIS THING!
